January/February Moments

Our days have been full now with prep for Thailand, but I don't want to forget to document some little moments in our days that are going to be fun to look back on.  :)

Judson got a late Christmas present from his Sauder cousins back in January and was thrilled to find out what was inside.

These next 2 pictures crack me up.  They show how sweet and patient Judson can be in one moment yet how fast that sweetness can fade.

Hands folded nicely, lips tucked in to form a small smile..........to

chest puffed out, hands on hips, nose scrunched, glare!

Daddy rides!

We watched Cars with Judson for the first time.  He is not a big Mator fan.

Matt is not big into clothing, but when it comes to his favorite sports teams, he makes sure we all have something to wear when they play.  :D

Judson inherited a Thomas shirt and jammies from his cousin Reuben.  He would wear the shirt everyday if he could.  As you can see, he was not impressed with the dinosaur jammies and wanted his train one put on over it.

Judson has started helping me in the kitchen.  He has been unloading the dishwasher for awhile now and has moved up in responsibilities to stirring.

Biscuits and Gravy!

He is always wanting to "read" our Bibles with us.  We dug out an extra we had so now he can have his very own adult Bible.  Maybe he will take after his namesake, Adoniram Judson, and teach himself to read at age 3.  :)

This was a moment that will always be remembered as the day Judson made huge strides in his eating.  He has struggled with eating issues from day 1 of his life.  His favorite food is humus and he usually eats it by the spoonfuls, but on this day he grabbed some carrots and dipped and munched away.  For a kid who has hated any food with texture, things that crunch, and most hard foods this was amazing progress.  We praise God for progress that has at times felt like would never come!

Cousins moments!  Judson is getting to an age that he is really starting to build relationships and friendships with his cousins.  We desire to make the most of the time we still have here in Sabetha as it becomes more precious everyday with our move date inching closer.

Judson had his first pooh in the potty.  He was pretty proud of it and had fun flushing it down the toilet.  It was a one time thing and he still enjoys pooping in his diaper.  :D

Puppy love!

We were able to go spend some time with our former foster kiddos - K, P, & J - and their adoptive family.  We are amazed at God's goodness in their lives as their forever family believes in the One who purchased the true forever family for eternity!  It was special to sit down with their parents and hear how each one of them is doing.  We had fun playing games, making silly videos, and eating dinner with them.

Judson and daddy's first tent.

Papa has been around for a couple months helping at KSi.  Judson is having a blast.  One day we were waiting for the guys to get home from work.  Judson got really excited when he heard the garage door open.  As Matt walked in Judson's face fell and showed his obvious disappointment that daddy was home and not papa.

Matt and dad went to a K-state basketball game together.

One great part of having my dad around is the free babysitting.  Matt and I planned a date day to Manhattan to spend time together and also to work on some homework we have for one of our mission trainings we have coming up this month.  Matt knows what I like -- good coffee, baked good, and HIM.  :)

We went to Troy and Amity's house in February for a weekend.  It had been quite some time since we had visited them.  It was great to get away and relax.  Love them!!!

Matt got in some good brother wii competition.

Maelyn and Judson were buds that weekend.
