Judson Gets A Trim

Recently Judson got a mini haircut.  We went over to grandma's house, because she is the best at cutting boy's hair.  She didn't take too much off, but we still had to document Judson's first haircut.

At first Judson looked at me and gave me a very questionable look as to why he had his shirt off and was wearing a towel.

His nerves were then quickly soothed when he saw that he was going to get to watch the show Boz.

In fact, he barely noticed what was going on.

All done.

I just adore this guy!  :)

Thanks grandma for your amazing scissor skills!

Sandbox Project & Random Pictures

We had plans to get some type of sandbox for Judson to play in this summer.  Matt woke up Saturday morning and said that he was going to build a sandbox and did just that!

Here is Matt filling the sandbox with sand.  Almost done!

The supervisor of the project.  We told him it's not a good idea to drink on the job.

Done!  Matt, you're amazing!

I think we are going to be giving lots and lots of baths this summer.

Here are just some random pictures of Judson from the past month.  I can't help but document these.  :)

Puppy love

Kissing the baby

Judson has finally figured the stairs out.  Thank goodness because he has figured out how to open the door to the basement.

We heard a squawk and found Judson stuck under a chair.  He had worked hard to get his ball out from under the table.

Look at those legs.  :)

Outside is Judson's favorite place.

I found Judson in the living room lounging and reading our Easter devotional.  Too funny!

He loves his red chair.  About every morning after breakfast he climbs into it and watches what is going on outside.

Popping Fun Baby Shower

A couple weekends ago the Kaeb clam threw a double baby shower for our sister-in-law Amanda and friend Mari.  They are both due in April, and in fact, Mari's sweet baby girl has already made her debut.  Amanda is due any day now, and we are all in anticipation as we wait to find out if she is having a girl or a boy.

Here are some pictures from the baby shower (many of the pictures come from my sister-in-law Tami).

It's exciting to watch these two gals become mommies for the first time!  These two babies are blessed with mommies that with smother them with their love and show them the love of Jesus!

Also, Amanda, now I won't be the only one pushing a stroller when we take walks together.  ;)

Adoption {Puzzle} Fundraiser

As a follow up to a recent post, we are in the waiting process with our adoption.  God has taught us so much in the past year about HIS faithfulness, HIS love for us, HIS perfect and sovereign plan, and HIS adoption of us as HIS sons and daughters!  Many of you have already walked alongside us and loved on us throughout this process, but we do want to extend an opportunity for anyone who is interested in financially supporting us in this journey to get involved as you wish.  Through our adoption agency, Lifeline Children's Services, our total adoption costs are expected to end up around $25,000.  This includes Application Fees, Home Study Fee, Program Fees, Placement Fees, and travel costs to travel to, stay with, and ultimately bring our baby home.

“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God and the Father is this: to care for orphans* and widows in their affliction…” James 1:27

There are many ways to care for the orphan with one way being financially supporting those in the adoption process.  We would love it if you came along side us in this process and see it as a great opportunity, as part of the Body of Christ, in answering God's call to care for a child in need of parents.

*When we use see this term orphan, we are in no way implying that birth families are abandoning their child.  That’s really not how adoption works.  It’s an intentionally chosen path the birth family moves towards BUT in the end the child does need parents to raise them and that is who they are looking for.

What exactly is an Adoption Puzzle Fundraiser?

Here's how it works:

  • Below is a picture of the 500 piece puzzle we chose for this fundraiser
  • Each piece can be purchased with a $10 or more donation
  • Names of donors will be placed on the back side of each puzzle piece purchased.  (We would love for local participants that purchase a puzzle piece to personally put their signature on the back side. You will be contacted by us or Duane & Amanda Kaeb to receive your puzzle piece. For out of town participants your name will be signed on the back side on your behalf.)

After the puzzle is completed, we will frame the puzzle between two pieces of glass and hang it in our child's room.  This will be a wonderful keepsake for us and our child to remember all those who loved on us, prayed for him/her, and helped made this adoption possible through sacrificial giving.  Every person who donates to our adoption becomes a part of our story; a piece of our puzzle!

How to donate:
  • The quickest and easiest way to donate is to go to gofundme.com/kaebadoption
  • Mail a check to us (email us at matt.kait.kaeb@gmail.com for mailing address)
  • Give us or Duane & Amanda Kaeb the donation in person

Thank you all for your support for us as we walk this journey of adoption! Please know that we appreciate each and every one of you, whether or not you are in a position to support us financially at this time.

"...When the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive ADOPTION as sons.  And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!" So you are not longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God."  Galatians 4:4-5
