Applesauce Time
Well, the past few years when it has come time to make applesauce I have always made it with my mother-in-law. This year, however, Matt became my applesauce partner and turned out to be a good one! We had fun, and I have to say we were pretty efficient for our first time digging into this together.
I couldn't get a more handsome partner. ;)
All finished! Except for the bagging.....we will have another round of applesauce making later this month. My mom always made pink apple sauce, so once the Jonathan apples come in we will go ahead and put some of that up.
Matt in the midst of our apple project took some time to read to the kids and put them to bed while I kept working. He is a great daddy!

Quick Quincy Trip
A few weekends ago Matt and I headed to Quincy to spend the weekend with my mom.
We enjoyed our time with her, and got to help her out with the food at a friends wedding.
I also enjoyed my husband. =)
Here is the bride with the maid of honor, my sister, Alex. It was fun to be together for a bit and made me miss being in Quincy running around with these 2 ladies.
The kitchen crew for the wedding. We had fun and a few stressful moments trying to get the food put together in the little space we had.
That weekend we were able to take some time with Alex and Chase and Aubrey to just catch up and share what God is doing in our lives. It was refreshing to spend this time with my sisters as I don't get to see them often.

A Refreshing Day
We have had the kids back with us for 3 weeks now, and it has been a busy, full 3 weeks. Matt and I both felt that due to the busyness and even craziness of bringing the kids back with us, it would be good for the 2 us to get away together and spend some time enjoying each other without the distraction of the 2 little ones. Matt had gotten 2 free tickets to a soccer game in KC, so thanks to Duane and Amanda's willingness to watch P & J for us, we set out this past Saturday for KC.
Before we headed out......
Enjoying an Asian salad at Granite City Brewery. I love going out to eat with Matt. It is just fun to relax with him and have good conversation.....and of course, not do the dishes!
The view from our seats. This was the first professional soccer game I had been too. Probably the loudest sporting even I have experienced. Matt and I had to literally yell at each other if we wanted to hear each other.
We were so thankful to have this time together. It was refreshing to our relationship and even our ministry to P & J.
Thanks a TON Duane and Amanda for taking care of P & J!!!
No...No Baby Yet
Our 2 foster kids are very excited that I am going to have a baby, and always ask when the baby is going to come out. Yesterday, I took our little foster girl P out to the AC church to help Matt's mom serve lunch and Matt took little J to Northridge for Sunday school before he headed to the AC church. We were gone from each other for most the morning. During the AC church lunch break I was watching some kids play while holding my 5 month old nephew, Kenden. When Matt and J got to the AC church they came and found me, and J's face when he saw me was priceless......He looked at me and let out a HUGE gasp while clasping his hands by his face that held his biggest grin ever and ran up to me and exclaimed, "Mommy, you had your baby!!! Look daddy (rubbing my belly), mommy had her baby!"
Matt and I just laughed and laughed, and I still can laugh thinking back to J's excitement and glee. We told him that our baby was still in my belly and hadn't come yet. We are glad to know that our little one is going to get a warm welcome from J when he/she comes. :D
