Kaeb Girlie Getaway-Galena

The Kaeb girls have started a little tradition of spending a weekend together once a year to some chosen destination.  This year we chose Galena, IL and were not disappointed.  It was the perfect little town for a bunch of girlies that like to relax, eat, shop, chat, act goofy, take naps, laugh, and go on adventures together.  It was a blast of a weekend!  Each of these gals are very special to me!  Adore them!!!

Here are some snapshots into our weekend.

Florida Family Vacation

At the beginning of this year Matt and I decided that we were going to go on a family vacation.  We spent some time looking and booked a trip at the end of August to Daytona Beach, Florida.  At the time it seemed our trip was WAY TOO FAR AWAY.  Was it ever going to come?  Well, it did and passed.  Now we have the sweet memories to think back on.

Judson is all ready to head to the airport at 5am.

We wondered how he would do on the plane ride, and thankfully, he did great!  His favorite parts were taking off and landing.  He would press his face against the window and bounce up and down while giggling.

My mom and sister Alex joined us for our vacation.  It was fun to get some good quality time with them as well.

I thought we brought the stroller for Judson?  Not a luggage rack.

We arrived at our resort.  It's always exciting to check the place out and see where you are going to "live" for a week!

Mom and Alex's room.  We weren't even at our place for 5 minutes and mom was out for a nap!  Vacation mode!

Mom and her floppy hat hiding from the sun.

We spent the first night walking around checking out the shops and area around our resort.

Sister, Sister!

We usually stumble upon ice cream a few times on vacation.

That evening my mom took Judson back to our room for bed and Matt, me, and Alex went for a walk a long the beach.  Here is our resort at night.

Loved every moment of extra time I got with this guy!

The next morning we hit the beach!

Judson was not intimidated at all.

It took him quite awhile before he tried the sand.  Here is his first taste.

Icky!

Judson loves water, so with the ocean, pool, and bath water he was one happy boy.

There were a few mornings that Judson would wake up and Matt would bring him to me in bed while he made a bottle.  Judson would just snuggle right in.  :)  Another plus of vacation is more pajama and snuggle time.

More beach time!

A nice part of having mom and Alex along is the babysitting aspect.  Matt and I took advantage of them a few times.  I don't think they minded.  :)

There was a fun kids pool area that we took Judson to a few times.

He became obsessed with this wheel.

There is mom hiding from the sun again.  ;)

Matt and I got to go on a date nigh while mom and Alex watched Judson.  Matt planned the date and surprised me.  He took me to this place called the European Village.  It was a courtyard with neat little shops and sidewalk restaurants.  I've never been to Europe, but Matt has, and said it did remind him of a European village.

We then hit up Krispy Kreme on our way back to the resort for some fresh doughnuts.  We thought we would bring some back for mom and Alex as payment for babysitting.

On our trip I got some new glasses.

Time to make the trip back home.

The plane must put Judson to sleep (yay).  Every flight he got in a good nap.

So thankful for the time we had together!  It is great to go on vacation together, but even greater to realize you get to go home together and spend your life together!

Mom and Alex, thanks for coming with us!  We enjoyed you and all your help with Judson.  :)
