Mom Kaeb turned 60 this past August, and all of her girls started scheming up ideas of something special we could do for her. Last year we all got together in Quincy, IL for a girls weekend and loved spending girly, quality time together. We decided to recreate a weekend together, but this time surprise mom Kaeb.
We set our destination to St. Louis, and dad Kaeb made up a story that he had a business meeting in St. Louis. The funny part is he actually created a lunch meeting! =) Haha, go dad! Dad invited his dear wife to go with him to the meeting and then proceeded to suggest that they just stay in St. Louis for a relaxing weekend together. On a Friday morning he and mom left for St. Louis and went to the "meeting" and then did a little shopping before checking into their hotel room.
Meanwhile on that Friday all us girls were making our way to St. Louis. Myself and Amity from Kansas City, Kim and Amanda from Champaign, and Tami and Maggi from Sabetha. Us girls met up at the hotel and checked in explaining to the front desk the need to "fake check-in" mom and dad. We then decorated the room for the surprise and poured some Champagne to add to the celebration.
Amity and myself getting more and more excited about getting to St. Louis every mile!
Hmm, I don't think Amanda and Kim are very excited.....haha, not!
Kim preparing the bubbly.
Waiting, waiting, waiting on dad and mom. It felt like forever! It was ok though because we fit in some good conversations.
Practicing making noise for the big moment.

The moment before the BIG MOMENT.
SURPRISE, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!
We got her!
Yes, success!
Happy together =)
Can't get much better than this!
Dad stayed the first night at the hotel and treated us all to dinner.
The next morning we just took our time getting ready and eating breakfast and then headed to get pedicures and manicures.
Judson being so good.
We then headed to lunch.
That afternoon we made our way into St. Louis to Bailey's Chocolate Bar. (This was my favorite experience of the weekend!)
We got a nut, fruit, and cheese tray to go along with our special martinis.
Tami opted out of the martini due to pregnancy and got a milkshake.
Maggi had the dark chocolate raspberry martini and split it with Amity. They weren't a huge fan of it and traded it for the signature chocolate martini.
Mint Martini
Chai Martini
Signature Chocolate Martini
Dark Raspberry Martini turned Signature Chocolate
Tiramisu Martini
They were all like dessert with most of them having ice cream in them. I couldn't decide which was my favorite, but it was a tie between the signature chocolate, tiramisu, and chai.
Judson hanging out on the bed. He was such a trooper and might I say quite handsome!
Saturday night dinner at the melting pot. We just sat around, talked, took our time eating and conversing.
This was my first fondue experience.
Great picture affects thanks to the steam.
Overall, it was a successful surprise! I'm so thankful to be part of a family of women that love Christ and let that flow into their relationships with one another. They all uplift me in this life's journey, and I'm so thankful for each of them! Mom, you set a beautiful example to each of us girls. Thank you!
