A Day With Cailer

Cailer has spent this past week out in Kansas with grandma and grandpa.  I thought it would be nice to give grandma a break and give Cailer a change of pace, so this past Thursday morning I went and picked him up for the day.

Our first stop was KSi.  Uncle Matt was very happy to have some visitors.  We also got to see Jason and grandpa.  Grandpa gave Cailer a pretty cook KSi pen and pencil set.  He was thrilled!

Matt took us on a little exploration to find some KSi hats.  Sadly we didn't find any, but the hunt was worth it because it gave us the excuse to wear the sweet safety goggles! =)

Next we headed to my massage room at work.  Cailer LOVES getting back-rubs, so I was pretty sure he would adore getting a real massage.

Hello there......looks like he was enjoying it!

Doesn't he just look relaxed???

Next we picked up Kaeb and headed to the skate park.  Cailer impressed me with his roller bladding skills while Kaeb just had a good time goofing off.

At this point in the day my camera died, so I was not able to capture the rest of our day. :( But geez we had a fun afternoon! =) We had some friends join us in the park, and then Matt brought us lunch.  After that we headed to Tami's house for a few hours in the afternoon.  Then Cailer came home with me to help me watch Kyson for while.  We then had dinner and soon after that grandma came and picked him up.

Kim, I hope that you enjoyed getting a glimpse of what Cailer's been up to while here in KS!!!

Am I Aging Biblically?

Family Filled Weekend

Well, we had another really fun weekend full of traveling and family.  Matt's cousin Mike's wedding was on Saturday in IL, so this past Friday we, along with some family, trekked out to St. Joe to stay the night at Neal and Kims.

I am always amazed at Kim's hospitality when we go to visit them.  Her and Neal have a full house with 5 kids but never hesitate to keep us and all the other family/friends.  Makes for a fun, exciting weekend when we can all stay together! =)  Huge thanks Kim!!!

Saturday was a special day because not only did we get to witness a very Christ-focused wedding, but I got to see my sister Ashley, her hubby Mark, and their little 2 month old Vienna!  I of course jumped in and offered to watch Vienna during the wedding.......yay, Ash let me!  Even though I missed parts of the wedding I was very encouraged in the parts that I got to hear.  It was evident that Mike and Callie desire a Christ-centered marriage through the way they lifted Him up in the message.  They wrote their own vows, and they were some of the most beautiful vows I have ever heard.  I wish I could remember everything they said to each other.

After the wedding we went back to St. Joe and had another fun afternoon/evening with Matt's family.  Sunday we were able to go to church at TCBC where Neal and Kim go.  It is always neat to be able to worship with family and see the church family God has brought Neal and Kim into.

Sometimes I think we travel too much, but this time I must say that all the hours spent in the car traveling were well worth the blessings of the weekend!

On a side note:  Kim is crazy about coffee.  I am pretty crazy about coffee too.  She had a little surprise for me when I got to her house..........STORE BOUGHT ICED COFFEE!!!  Ever since coming home from IL I have been craving it!  I will have to check and see if my little grocery store here in town carries it.

We didn't really take any pictures of the weekend, but we did get this one.  It's an important one too.  We got to see Brock play t-ball, and might I say he was pretty good at it.  Here he is sporting his medal with his proud uncle.

While we were in IL Tami had her baby.  Sunday evening when we got home we had to stop by to meet the newest addition to the family......Ava Tamara.  Ava, you are a sweetie!

Reflecting Back

Some fun memories of our wedding weekend.  It's so fun to look back but so great to be thankful for where we are today!

Taking a little raft ride together.

Enjoying our rehearsal dinner.

It was fun to run across these pictures from my sister-in-law.  The funny part is is that I can't even remember what our dessert tasted like!  I was WAY too distracted by the cute boy next to me!

Finally.......goodbye party.......hello honeymoon!

KC + 2 Years Married

Over Memorial weekend we went with Jason and Maggi and mister Kyson to stay the weekend with Troy and Amity and kids.  Jason and Maggi stayed through Saturday night while Matt and I stayed through Monday.  The sad thing is is that I have no proof that Jason and Maggi were even there, because I didn't pull my camera out till Sunday, but I promise they were! =)

Saturday all the big guys spent most of the day around KC at a cousins bachelor party.  That meant that us gals and the little boys had a full afternoon together.  It was relaxing just hanging out and catching up with my sister-in-laws.  I had spent quite a bit of time with Maggi and Amity on separate occasions, but it was a fun dynamic to have the 3 of us together.

Tristan and I got to go on a little aunt/niece date to the mall while I got my haircut.  She patiently waited for me so after my haircut was finished I thought we needed some true girl time.  We went to one of Tristan's favorite stores Justice to browse the latest fashions for a girl her age.  She decided on a few bright, neon headbands for her and Maelyn.  As we headed out the mall to the car we walked by a gelato shop..........let's just say we didn't make it past the shop without each holding a pretty hefty cup of gelato.  I should have never tried it, because the next time Matt and I go to that mall I am going to start drooling the moment we walk through the doors remembering how delicious my gelato was!

Amity is always amazing in providing meals for us whenever we visit.  Here we are (yes, I am there behind the camera) enjoying a Sunday afternoon grill-out.

Sunday evening T and M went to stay with their grandma for the night, so we got to double date +1 with Troy and Amity.  PF Changs, you met our needs that night!

Not only did God give me a supper cool husband.........

but He gave me an awesome family to go with it!  We love how our relationship with Troy and Amity has grown over the few years we have gotten to know them as a couple.  Matt and I treasure the friendships we have with other couples that are transparent and Christ centered.

On Monday Matt and I took off to celebrate our 2 year anniversary.  We have moved to the toddler stage of our marriage. =) We had a fun morning exploring the River Market and then spent the afternoon walking around Legends just enjoying being together.  One of my highest love languages is quality time, so anytime it is just Matt and me I soak it up!!!

As you can see by this picture we truly are not beyond the toddler stage of our marriage!  Haha, I do hope as we grow older we keep parts of our relationship young/fresh.

Thinking back over the past 2 years of our marriage makes me excited to jump into #3 with Matt.  Although it has not always been an easy journey, I am blessed to be able to look back and see more clearly the things that God has taught us.  My prayer for Matt and myself in this next year is that God would give us the help to respond more Christ-like in any tough situation that comes our way.  Whether it is involving internal struggles inside our marriage or external situations outside of our marriage, my prayer is that we can bring more glory to God.
