Getting to the Heart of Parenting - DVD & CD Resource

Matt and I are in a small group Bible study with a few other couples, and we just started back up again after taking a few months off.  Matt and I were just talking yesterday on our way to Bible study how excited we are for this particular Bible study.  Which is actually kinda surprising because this study we are doing is on parenting, and we don't have any children!  We do know that children are in our future though whether God gives them to us through having our own, fostering, adopting or a mixture of those 3.  We know that God can use this Bible study in our lives to help prepare us for that upcoming chapter of our life.

The Bible study we have started is called "Getting to the Heart of Parenting" by Paul Tripp.  Here is a little preview of the study if anyone is interested.

John Piper: Bloodlines Documentary

The only true power to overcome racism in this world is through the Cross of  Jesus Christ! What a great video to remind us that we are all (white, black, brown, etc.)  made in His Image (Genesis 1:27)

Double Wedding

About 4 months ago Matt and I both had 1st cousins get engaged within a week of each other.  We were so excited for Brandon (Matt's first cousin) and Breana (Kait's first cousin).  They each asked us to be in their wedding party, and we happily agreed.  After already agreeing to be in the weddings we figured out that they each picked the same weekend in January to have their weddings.  How in the world does this happen!?  It really wouldn't have been a big deal except that Brandon's wedding was in Ohio and Breana's wedding was in California.

This past weekend were the big events, and Matt and I parted to do cousin duty. :)

At MCI airport getting ready to part ways.

Matt only took a few pictures of his weekend in Ohio.
Here he is with the groom and bride.  Congratulations Brandon and Heidi!

Matt messaged me a few pictures of himself throughout the weekend.  What a sweet husband!

As for me, well; I got a few more pictures while in California.
The bridesmaids minus Rachel.

The handsome groomsmen I walked with.  Cousin Brian Wagenbach.

Brian and his crocks.  Very stylish.

Whoooot whooot.....what a good looking couple.  Congratulations to Vince and Breana!

Here is Rachel Kuenzi!

Never thought my Cali cousin Breana would turn into a mid-west girl.

At the reception we had to get a Jevremov cousin picture.

Breana and I sharing the mirror on Sunday morning.

Even though I didn't have Matt all weekend it gave me some quality time with some of my girlfriends.  They were probably the highlight of my weekend.  I stayed with the Fulop family who have been friends to my family for a long time.  We went on a late night tangerine pick.

Polly, you are wonderful!

Linda, you are one real friend!

This picture makes me laugh.  Good times gone crazy!

As much fun as I had in California I was definitely ready to get home to see Matt.  Thankful that God brought us back together again!

Basement=Organized!

My husband rocks!  I've been asking him to clean our basement, and when he.....finally....did it he went above and beyond!  Yes, he did build those shelves.  Wow!  I just keep learning more and more about his skills.

(Thanks to Dad Hoerr & Kaeb and Duane for helping.)

Christmas #2

Christmas.....Again

We spent New Years weekend with Matt's family and during that weekend we also celebrated our Christmas together.  Each year we get a picture of the grand kids with Grandpa Santa and Grandma Claus.  We missed having Neal and Kim and their 5 kids with us this year due to them just bringing home their 2 newest daughters Kebe and Shena form Ethiopia.  Next year this picture will be even harder to take and with a few more little bodies surrounding grandpa and grandma. =)

I always enjoy getting together with my Kaeb family.  They have made settling into Sabetha so much smoother for me.  I love that this family likes to play games and open up spiritual discussion.  I learn so much and am challenged in the many discussions we have.  Oh, and another favorite of mine about my Kaeb family is mom Kaeb's cooking and willingness to whip up meals not just on weekends like this but many other times Matt and I are there.  I'm just very thankful for each and everyone that makes up this family!
