Our 3rd year anniversary came and went last Thursday. The week leading up to it was a pretty eventful week full of basement flooding and moving our foster kids to their new home. We had a ton of rain last week, and one evening Matt and his dad and our brother-in-law Neal pumped over 300 gallons of water from our newly finished basement. Looks like the basement project isn't quite done yet like we hoped.......but we are thankful to have a house still standing unlike many people who lost everything in the tornados. Our foster kids moved in with a family only about 20 minutes away, and we are excited and thankful to have them somewhat close. From the small amount of time we have gotten to spend with the family we are so thankful for them as they seem to be a very loving home. We hope to build a better relationship with them and stay connected to the 3 little ones we had for 10 months.
By Thursday evening last week both Matt and I were wiped out. To me a quiet anniversary evening at home sounded just great, but we managed to go out to eat at Country Cabin (one of the best restaurants around our area.....and there aren't that many options). After having all the rain the over the past few days that week it seemed refreshing to sit outside on their deck and enjoy the sun. We were the only ones out there, so we enjoyed a quiet and peaceful atmosphere together. We split a meal and actually ended up still taking half of it home. We then made a trip to Wal-mart and picked up a few things. One of the things being chocolate, brownie frozen yogurt for me! =) We then headed home to enjoy the rest of our evening together.
In our 3 years of marriage it seems that we have gone through some very tough circumstances together, but how else is God going to grow our love for each other so deeply. I do deeply love my husband, and I'm so thankful for the forgiveness and grace he shows me. He does a great job modeling to me how Christ loves His church.
Thanks babe!
